Your journey to health
90-min initial consultation and treatment
Take your time to tell me your health concerns and receive a relaxing first acupuncture treatment and a clear care pathway ahead.
Acupuncture for You
Each follow-up treatment is designed to restore your body and mind, easing pain and relieving stress. Along with acupuncture, you receive supporting therapies and lifestyle advice, such as nutritional guidance and acupressure techniques.
Acupuncture MOT
Why leave it until you feel awful to visit the clinic? Lovingly termed your ‘Acupuncture MOT’, preventive healthcare with regular acupuncture helps to avoid chronic pain and unmanageable health issues.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile needles throughout the meridians of the body to restore balance and improve energy flow and vitality. Modern research suggests that acupuncture influences the nervous system, enhances circulation, and releases endorphins, which help to reduce pain, calm the mind, and support overall well-being. A deeply relaxing and restorative experience, it addresses not only presenting symptoms but their root cause. Simply put, it reminds the body of its natural ability to heal.
What to expect
After a warm welcome, your first appointment begins with an in-depth consultation. We will explore your health concerns and observe pulse and tongue before curating an individualised acupuncture treatment. You’ll then enter the treatment sanctuary and relax on a heated bed to receive your first acupuncture. At the end of your first session, you’ll be given some natural healthcare advice and a clear care pathway ahead. Consultation and treatment last approximately 1.5 hours.
Follow-up treatments include a shorter consultation followed by acupuncture. I may also include complementary therapies such as cupping or electroacupuncture. These are 1 hour in duration. Once your specific health concerns are alleviated, preventative healthcare is offered to tonify and nourish the body, supporting longevity.

What Jo Mac patients say
Jo is great. She has helped tremendously with some long term issues I had. Her place is like a sanctuary! Thanks Jo!
I’ve had a few sessions with Jo now and I would definitely recommend, she makes you feel at ease and the treatment room is lovely and calming. She is happy to talk you through each step, ensuring that each session is individualised. When the treatment is over you will be walking on cloud 9.
On behalf of my mam Ruth, "I came to Jo for help with day and night hot flushes that I'd had for many years. I'd tried other treatments and none were successful. I've had 6, weekly Ear 👂 Acupuncture treatments with Jo; by the 2nd treatment my symptoms had reduced by 50% and their intensity had reduced. I've just finished treatment 6 and this week I've had no day flushes and just a few warmish nights. I would definitely recommend!"
I was diagnosed with spondylitis of the neck and an impingement of the rotary cuff resulting in pins and needles in my fingers and a tingling sensation in my arm. After my first first with Jo the pins and needles went from an every day occurrence to twice in the week afterwards. Can’t recommend Jo enough.
I heard about the very positive health benefits of acupuncture. And was recommended to seek treatment from Jo. The whole experience was calm and reassuring, Jo clearly explained the process and the reason why she was treating a particular area. Whilst nothing can cure my health condition, I did feel a positive improvement with some of the associated problems. I can walk, further and easier and with more confidence and no pain. I have booked a follow up session to tweak my condition and keep the positive energy flowing.
Having recently gone through some difficult times and struggled to sleep, Joanne's auricular acupuncture worked miracles and I finally had a peaceful night's sleep then and ever since. Not only that, her familiarity with Chinese medicine in general meant she could give me some great treatments I could give myself when I needed it. Don't hesitate in getting in touch with Joanne, her calm nature, friendliness and expertise will set you right. I'm definitely a returning customer.
Been suffering over two years and after acupuncture with Jo my shoulder no longer hurts. Peaceful sleep and no pain. Highly recommend
I’ve had two sessions of ear acupuncture so far. I’m amazed at the difference it has made to my anxiety levels. I have not experienced an anxiety attack since my first treatment. Within 5 days I was back doing the thing that caused my attacks. Only low level anxiety was experienced and I was able to manage it easily. Jo is a lovely lady and made me feel very welcome from the offset. I will continue the treatment as things are so much better. I highly recommend giving Jo a try.
